Late yesterday we received the call from our adoption agency that we've been anticipating for three months... our referral! We would have made a post right away but they weren't able to provide all the information at the time (and still haven't yet, hopefully tomorrow) but I'll go ahead and share what we know.
We were referred two little girls that are unrelated. The youngest is named Irene and was born in May 2008 (she's about 15 months old right now.) The older girl is named Jeanette and was born in August 2007 (she's about 2 years old.) We did receive medical info and pictures on Irene but have not yet on Jeanette (hopefully tomorrow.) We are not sure yet if we will keep their names or pick new ones and keep these as middle names.
The amazing thing is this means each of our kids are about 9 months apart! This is about the closest we could have gotten to having three kids that have natural, biological birth separation from each of their siblings even though they're not related. AWAA deserve credit for trying to keep a natural separation like this as this is something they value as being important.
We're not allowed to post pictures in a public forum like this (until the adoption is approved by the courts in Rwanda) but Courtney has promised to give a detailed description of both girls tomorrow when we receive photos of Jeanette.
Congrats, this is great news!
