Trick or treat! We just returned from Noah's first Halloween. He was dressed as a lion. My sister took him out in our neighborhood while Courtney and I passed out candy, and then we drove to some of our friend's houses to visit.
I heard a survey today on K-LOVE that said about 64% of Christians are opposed to Halloween and don't think it should be celebrated. For most their basis is that it's a celebration that promotes idolatry and worshiping pagan gods, for others they feel it is dangerous for kids.
Obviously we don't have an issue with taking part in Halloween. It is fun to give candy out to kids that come to our door and I see nothing wrong in letting my child(ren) dress up in a fun outfit and go collect some candy from neighbors.
So what do you think? Is celebrating Halloween wrong? Is it offensive to God?
